As stated on the title of this entry, living creatures are sorrounded by other individuals and species. We live in an interconnected ecosphere, where the relations among the diversity of species remains in a delicate balance.
The following video is about that thrid aspect of the vital functions: relations. In "One life" (narrated by Daniel Craig), you will discover many types of relations between species: predation, competition, symbiosis, cooperation, etc.
Your duty about this documentary is to select one scene from it (choose which species you are going to focus your work on) and describe the type of relationships that is being shown (individuals or species, ecological context, biome, actions taking place on the scene, ecological outcomes and further implications). Write it collaboratively on a Google Drive document (following the instructions I gave you in class) and give me access to it.
It is highly recommended for you to watch the entire documentary! You will love it for sure!

Crazy mating strategies
As nature strategies are as varied as life is itself, reproduction is at the top in science, specially when we talk about sexual reproduction strategies. Here you can see some examples of weird and curious strategies, from the flatworms to bees:

How do plants make their own food?
All living creatures carry out the three vital functions we have seen in class these days, which are nutrition, interaction and reproduction. When it comes to nutrition we have seen that there are two nutritional models:
- Autotrophs
- Heterotrophs
But, who are the autotrophs? We have seen many algae , many bacteria and all plants are autotrophs. Do you know why plants are very important for the rest of living creatures? Because of photosynthesis and its implications!
Here you can see a video about this essential process:
And for a much more detailed explanation you can watch this one:
